Project Goal

This project was ultimately an exercise in branding and concept creation. The client company, Cerebelly, reached out to our design team with a need for new products for their customers. They needed it to be Cerebelly branded,

baby safe, and easy to assemble.

Mood Board

The obvious go-to for the mood board was to base it off the Cerebelly brand images that the client had sent. Bright, vibrant and yet calm and pleasing to the eye was the ultimate mood that we wanted our product to have.

Concept Sketching

By cultivating our mood board, our team decided that it would be best to use reclaimed and recycled wood, rather than recycled plastic. This would meet the client’s desire to be baby-safe. So with that in mind, many of our concepts revolved around wood as our main material. We thought panty racks to hold Cerebelly baby food pouches might be a solution. However, creating a step stool would allow the child to interact with our product as well as the parent. That ended up being the direction we tackled.

Color Blocking

A color block render was made as a quick way of communicating our ideas for materials during our concept pitch to the client. It was necessary that our color palette drew heavily from the brand’s colors.

Rendering

We pitched the initial sketches to the client and they liked it. So, afterwards it was time to move forward with rendering the product to sell the final concept. Since there was a short deadline for this project, we opted to test out Vizcom, an AI program that can render sketches realistically. With a little touching up, our rendered concepts were ready for the final pitch.
